Job Description for a Financial Controller (Permanent)
Who we are:
Construction, Civil Engineering & Groundwork company based in Bedford. We have extensive experience in delivering large-scale residential and commercial developments. Along with working closely with clients on bespoke, small-scale developments.
Who we are looking for:
Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the role will include:
� Weekly and monthly credit control
� Produce debt reports
� Issuing statements to clients
� Liaising with the bank and company accountants
� Daily Bank Reconciliation
� Opening New Customer Accounts
� Raising company invoicing and credits
� Apply appropriate in-depth knowledge of VAT rules and discounted payments to check accurate accounting, reporting and payments/reclaims along with the submitting of the company VAT returns
� Production of monthly profit and loss figures, and monthly financial summary information as required to assist in business plan reports
� Running a weekly payroll for Construction Workers (Holiday cover only)
� Validating CIS accreditations
� Ensure that payments are correctly allocated, to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice(s).
� Assisting with cost management, cash flow, forecasting/company debt appraisal
� To identify key considerations with impact performance profitability i.e. excessive overheads, staffing, poor capital management
� Company statutory duties
� Suspend credit facilities in accordance with Credit Policy
� Be aware of duties performed by other team members to enable adequate cover to be provided at all times of holiday/absence
� Setting up workers and applicants on the in-house database
� Assist with collecting weekly timesheets
� Assisting with payroll queries
� Assisting with time sheet disputes
� Fuel card and credit card reconciliation
� Working to strict deadlines
