Position: Financial Controller
Location: Skegness, Lincolnshire
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Teen Spirit Limited is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Financial Controller to join our growing business. This is a new and pivotal role within our organisation, offering the opportunity to lead a small finance team, contribute to strategic decision-making at the senior management level, and play a key role in shaping the future growth of our business.
As Financial Controller, you will not only oversee the day-to-day financial operations but also act as a trusted advisor to the Directors. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and the ambition to grow into a Finance Director position in the future.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will play a critical role in driving growth, optimising financial performance, and delivering on strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives, supporting the Managing Director to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the business units.
Manage, mentor, and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, aligning financial plans with business objectives.
Monitor and optimise cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the financial health of the business.
Evaluation and preparation of submissions including management of overall spend level to approved budgetary limits.
Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies.
Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Oversee tax filings and ensure adherence to UK tax laws and reporting requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth year-end audits.
Support senior management with financial projects, system improvements, and business initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Demonstrable experience in driving growth and improving financial performance.
Proven experience in a Financial Controller role or similar senior finance position.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop others.
Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Solid understanding of UK tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and PAYE.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
Ambitious mindset, with the drive to grow into a Finance Director role.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with financial systems implementation or upgrades (this is planned for Q4 2025)
Knowledge of payroll and pension schemes
Experience in a fast-paced or growing business environment.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
