Financial Director/Company Secretary
About Us:
Successful business based in Pocklington with continuous development and diversification at the heart of what they do, currently require a motivated individual to join their management team.
Working in this long-established group of companies primarily providing explosive delivery services to the mining and geotechnical industries, this is a hands-on position in which you will be involved in a variety of financial and company secretarial duties.
Responsibilities as the Financial Director:
* Supervision of the smooth day-to-day running of the accounting and secretarial functions.
* Developing and producing management reports, including monthly management accounts.
* Develop, implement, and monitor finance processes, systems and controls over expenditure, reporting and cash management.
* Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
* Ensure that VAT regulations are adhered to and that quarterly return submissions and payment deadlines are met.
* Proactively develop an understanding of the requirements of the various business functions by developing strong working relationships with colleagues.
* Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure that communication and information flow between the Commercial and Finance Departments (and vice versa) is regular, meaningful, and focused on business improvement.
* Provide ad-hoc analysis to Management to inform decision making.
* Ensure compliance and adherence with all Company policies, procedures, processes, and health and safety aspects relevant to the industry.
Experience as a Financial Director:
* Demonstrate strong financial experience, preferably, though not essentially, with an accountancy qualification
* A strong insightful proactive management background
