Our client is looking for a Band 7 Financial Services Accountant. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Director of Finance, Procurement and Estates. JOB DESCRIPTION Support the Head of Financial Services in providing effective, efficient, and economic financial services and reporting with regard to patients/clients, including Charitable Funds and Patients/Residents Private Property. Assess and monitor the adequacy of staffing resources to provide financial services required and to ensure all staff are adequately trained in all associated financial processes, procedures, and systems. Participate in the assessment and development of financial systems so that all financial transactions are accurately and promptly processed, and that information produced can be relied upon to enable effective decision making. Ensure that financial systems, procedures, and processes are developed and implemented to deliver financial services in a transparent and accountable manner, including implementing any audit recommendations. Support the Head of Financial Services to monitor and review the quality of financial services delivered to the Trust including provision of information on a range of performance indicators. Complies with all relevant statutory and departmental financial regulations. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Financial Assessment systems and processes, CRAG, private medical practice, and other relevant regulations and legislation, including the implications of revised charging guidelines and consult with relevant agencies e.g. Department of Health, legal advisors Liaise with managers, senior staff in other Directorates, DHSSPS, Home proprietors, patients/clients, HSC colleagues, Office of Care and Protection, Social Security Office Managers. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: 2 years post qualification experience in a managerial role Eg Project or staff management Experience in delivering objectives which have led to a significant (contributing directly to key Directorate objectives) improvement in service Have experience in working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders in a role which has contributed to the successful implementation of a significant change initiative.
