Financial Services Team Leader

Hourly Rate: �19 - �25 - Negotiable depending on experience.

Contract: Initial 3-6 month contract with a view to being extended

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday.

Fully Remote Working/Hyrbid Options available.

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a local authority in Leicestershire to assist with the recruitment of a Financial Services Team Leader.

Role Brief: to lead and manage the Financial Services function (accounts receivable, accounts payable, income collection, bank reconciliation, VAT and payroll) to deliver an efficient and effective service and the provision of services in respect of all insurance matters including arrangements for ensuring adequate cover is in place, timely administration of claims and contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the Financial Services team.
  2. Act as a main point of contact for the Council in relation to Financial Services functions.
  3. To act as the authority's lead for employer related tax and VAT.
  4. To act as one of the Council's authorised bank signatories.
  5. Administration of the Council's bank account and Corporate Credit Card and associated online systems.
  6. Supporting the Systems Accountant with the administration and development of the finance systems.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience managing staff.
  • Experience within Local Authority/Public Sector Finance.
  • Payroll Experience.
