Job Description
As the Financial & Strategic Programme Director your key responsibilities are likely to include but not be limited to the following:
Working alongside the CFO in navigating the Finance function through a change of control transaction and all the steps therein, leveraging past experience to ensure an efficient process.
Project management of the internal preparation phase across all Group wide workstreams
Involvement in Financial due diligence, buyer Q&A and other transaction related activities, liaising internally with the rest of the Group as necessary and appropriate.
Line management of the Financial Modeller & Analyst role to ensure successful build and delivery of a business wide financial model
Developing a detailed understanding of all the business units and supporting the FP&A function and the Group CFO with Finance projects, ad-hoc analysis and insight generation in order to drive the businesses forward and continue our growth journey. This will require extensive interaction with the broader finance teams to interpret a complex range of data points.
Concise and impactful presentation of financial information and KPIs to the executive leadership team, and other stakeholders as needed.
Drive the appropriate data structures from our corporate systems to support the analysis and modelling referred to above
Work closely with the central function teams and the business unit MDs and FDs. Due to the global nature of the business, you will collaborate with colleagues both in the UK and across our various office locations around the world.
What we are looking for:
You will work well under pressure and be capable of working collaboratively with the rest of the senior team to deliver results, focussing on getting the job done with a ‘can-do’ style.
Key skills and competencies for the role:
Experience of medium to large sized M&A transactions and the process requirements therein is necessary, either from within a corporate setting or in advisory capacity.
A qualified chartered accountant with a minimum of 10 years post graduate experience and preferably with a transaction services background. Subsequent experience of working in an FP&A function of a consumer business and/or a business which is private-equity owned would be extremely beneficial.
Financial modelling, project management and strong written and in-person presentation skills are a prerequisite. Experience of working with international businesses would be beneficial.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders and present financial analysis in a clear and concise manner.
Strategic and commercial thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and also to dive into the detail when required - to know the small print but be able to tell the “story”
