An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Engineer to join an independent global construction and property consultancy. This firm provides management and advice throughout the built environment, focusing on creating value for clients and achieving commercial success. The role involves delivering fire engineering design solutions across various sectors, including cost management, quantity surveying, project and programme management, asset advisory, and specialist consultancy.
The Fire Engineer Role
As a Fire Engineer, you will:
- Deliver fire engineering design solutions to clients across a wide variety of sectors.
- Manage and advise on projects throughout the built environment.
- Develop and implement fire engineering strategies.
- Stay updated with current fire safety regulations and legislation.
- Assess fire-related risks in projects and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
- Review and comment on the quality of fire safety installations.
- Prepare reports, attend design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.
Requirements
- An engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering, or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering (other backgrounds considered).
- Proven experience in fire engineering and delivering fire safety projects.
- Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Willingness to travel and a flexible approach to the working environment.
- Fire modelling experience is beneficial.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
