We are recruiting for the following project on behalf of a successful regional Electrical Contractor in Burton upon Trent.



Required: Fire and Security Engineer



Employment status: Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday (40hrs p/wk)



Other benefits include: Overtime, on call rota, company van, pension, on site parking and medial private insurance.





Job Description

The role will combine existing knowledge of Fire and security systems, including but not limited to Intruder Alarm Systems (Texecom/Pyronix), Fire Alarm (Conventional and Addressable CTEC), Door Access (Paxton), CCTV (Dahua/HIK); Barrier (CAME) & Nurse Call Systems beneficial but not essential. Training can be provided.



Existing knowledge of monitored alarm systems preferable.



Working alongside a team of existing engineers to service/maintain and install the above systems to a satisfactory standard. Our client pride themselves in giving great service to clients, in both commercial and domestic environments.

Skills/Qualities Required




  • Must hold the right to work in the UK.

  • Good IT skills & basic knowledge of networks

  • Ability to work at heights.

  • Full UK drivers' licence

  • Enthusiasm to learn and an interest in problem solving

  • Ability to work in a team and communicate with back-office staff

  • Focused and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to interpret complex requirements, identify any risks, and communicate effectively

  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills with a strong ability to forward plan

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Perform installation and maintenance activities and associated tasks to a high standard in an environment where safe working practices are critical

Qualifications Desired




  • A minimum of 5 GCSE's or same equivalent level qualification including Maths and English Language.

  • FESS apprenticeship or similar approved

  • At least 3-5 years experience

  • ECS card preferable
