Role Overview: Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking to integrate a Fleet Manager who will play a pivotal role in optimising the operation of our companys fleet across multiple locations. This includes our headquarters in Banbridge, as well as our sites in Glasgow and Inverness in Scotland, Birmingham in England, and Frankfurt in Germany. Our fleet comprises over 40 vehicles, including two lorries, seventeen vans, various company cars, ten forklifts, and a telehandler. The Fleet Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations across these diverse locations. Job Title | Fleet Manager Location| Head Office Banbridge Hours | Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm Salary | Competitive Depending on Experience Responsible to | Head Of Warehouse & Logistics Key Responsibilities Vehicle Maintenance and Management: Oversee routine and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicles are in good working condition. Schedule repairs and keep detailed records of service histories. Fleet Acquisition and Disposal: Evaluate the needs of the organisation to determine the types and quantities of vehicles required. Manage the disposal of old or inefficient vehicles and oversee the acquisition of new ones. Hire and Lease: Evaluate the needs of the organisation and set out proposals in line with company needs. Develop strategic plans and reporting cover all lease/hire vehicle elements. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Manage vehicle documentation, including registration, insurance, and license renewals. Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety policies to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. Conduct safety training sessions for drivers. Cost Management: Monitor and control costs associated with the fleet, including fuel, maintenance, and insurance. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or efficiency. Driver Management: Recruit and train drivers. Monitor driver performance, including adherence to safety rules and regulations. Inventory Management: Keep track of all vehicles and related equipment. Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet operational needs without excessive surplus. Technology and Innovation: Implement fleet management software systems for tracking and managing the fleet more effectively. Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in fleet management that can improve efficiency and reduce costs. Environmental Impact Reduction: Implement green initiatives such as the use of electric or hybrid vehicles. Monitor and aim to reduce the fleet's carbon footprint. Strategic Planning and Reporting: Develop strategic plans for the fleet's operations and growth. Prepare reports for upper management on fleet performance and operational issues. Essential Criteria Minimum of 3 years in fleet management/operations on a fleet of 40+ vehicles. Demonstrated experience managing a diverse fleet of vehicles. Familiarity with fleet management software and telematics systems. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair protocols. In-depth understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments. Experience in budget management and cost control for fleet operations. Ability to identify and implement cost-saving measures. Awareness of health and safety regulations in fleet operations.
