Floor Coverings Technician

Role: FLOOR COVERINGS TECHNICIAN
Location: Kettering, UK Salary: Up to £24,000 pro rata
Hours: 22.5 hrs per week

We have a Part-time vacancy for a Technician to work in our Floor Coverings department.
This role is part-time, 22.5 hours per week over three days.

Responsibilities
As a Floor Coverings Technician you will be required to carry out the following:
* Preparation and conditioning of samples prior to testing
* Testing and assisting with physical testing of floor covering samples to British,
European and international standards
* Maintain cleanliness of laboratory areas including assisting others with moving test
samples
* Planning and agreeing testing schedules with customers and Head of Floor
Coverings
* Communicating with customers via email and telephone
* Completing and maintaining training records

About You
Successful candidates will be required to have the following:
Essential
* GCSE Maths, English & Science minimum Grade C (Grade 5 or above)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Good computer skills - word & Excel
* Able to work to deadlines
* Be able to follow instructions accurately & have a good attention to detail
* Demonstrable experience of organisation and planning skills
* Good time management and scheduling skills
* Ability to work alone or as part of a team
* Flexibility, tenacity and a 'can-do' attitude

Desirable
* Experience working within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory environment
* Experience working within the floor coverings sector
* Knowledge of testing required for different types of consumer products
