FLT Counterbalance Operative

We are recruiting for FLT Drivers to support our clients based on a manufacturing business in Seacroft, Leeds. You will be supporting a site producing some of the worlds most recognised personal care products ensuring the smooth intake and distribution of materials and finished products.

The role will be working with the waste management partner assisting with the general day to day waste procedures across the site, duties will include but are not limited to:

• Day & night shift warehouse working environment (indoors and outdoors)
• Driving a Forklift, forager experience would also be an advantage
• Collection of waste materials from across the site
• Management of bin solutions to factory processing lines and departments across the site
• Use of baling and compactor machinery internally & externally
• Baling of cardboard and plastic material generated across the site
• Loading and offloading of wooden pallets in the outside waste yards
• Management/movement of hazardous and non-hazardous materials across the site
• Interaction with third party suppliers when completing delivery and collection requests and other associated tasks
• Completion of relevant paperwork for full audit and compliance purposes
• Full adherence to site safety processes & procedures
• Actively promote a safe and clean working environment - maintain and upkeep of areas internally & externally including warehouse, factories and outside yards
• Working as part of a one Mitie team whilst supporting Unilever and other third party contacts

Candidates will need to have a minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar environment and at least 2 years remaining on their counterbalance licence (Must be RTITB/ITSSAR accredited - evidence of licence / refresh will be required). Candidates should also have a good level of numeracy and literacy and be able to communicate effectively with others.
Shifts are 12 hours (6.00am-6.00pm, 6.00pm-6.00am) and will generally be on a 4 of 4 off basis (2 Days 2 Nights 4 Off) although some flexibility will be required due to business needs and you should note this is a 24x7 operation.
Pay: �16.59 per hour
The recruitment process will involve work related assessments and a manual FLT test. Successful candidates will also be required to complete mandatory health screening including a drugs & alcohol test.
