Flt Counterbalance/Warehouse Operative

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Counterbalance FLT Driver/Warehouse Worker to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse/logistics department by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This role has the requirement to cover two depots and therefore a valid full driving licence is required to enable travel between these two depots.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling and storage.


• Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock.


• Carry out shipping and receiving duties, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists.


• Perform basic maths calculations for inventory management and stocktaking.


• Conduct regular equipment repairs and maintenance as needed to ensure operational efficiency.


• Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting tasks.


• Maintain an organised and clean warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.


• Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve warehouse processes.

Skills

• Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.


• A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence is a requirement of this role.


• A valid Reach Licence would be advantageous - though not essential.


• A valid Full Driving Licence is a requirement of this role


• Experience with shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.


• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.


• Competence in heavy lifting and materials handling techniques.


• Familiarity with general warehouse operations.


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
