Introduction:
Providing a friendly and inclusive welcome for members and visiting players of all ages, Came Down is a popular golf course in West Dorset since 1896. Our downland course, prepared with the greatest care and attention to detail, is nestled beautifully between Dorset's historic county town, Dorchester and the coastal resort of Weymouth - offering stunning 360-degree views and a spectacular course that is open all year round.
The Club is easily accessible, situated between Dorchester and Weymouth, just 3 miles off the main A35. Both towns have direct train lines from London, Bristol and Gloucester.
The Club has a current playing membership of 700 with a very busy golfing schedule of fixtures and events. Visitors and society groups are welcome 7 days a week year-round as well as many open competitions that are hosted throughout the year.
Our clubhouse has been recently refurbished and our fully equipped kitchen (5 star rating) can accommodate sizeable groups ideal for large social, charity, or corporate golf days.
The Role:
The Successful candidate(s) will be responsible for:
The management of the day to day running of the bar and catering at Came Down Golf Club
Ensuring current food safety standards and regulations, in keeping with our current 5-star food rating
Employing and overseeing catering, service, bar, cleaning staff
Managing within agreed budget
Menu development and member experience and service.
What is Required:
Experience in the day to day running of a clubs Food & Beverage operation (including functions)
Experience as a Bar Manager/Club Steward or Pub/Restaurant Tenancy/Landlord
Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations
Proven track record in menu design and food presentation that results in good margin and positive customer experience
Ability to manage a small team and work efficiently under pressure, especially during events
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and special occasions
Proven track record for providing exceptional hospitality and making dining at the club a highlight for all visitors
Love for catering and hospitality
Uk Driving Licence and Right to work in the U.K.
