Food Production Cook - Food Manufacturer - Colchester, Essex (Temporary Ongoing)

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Food Production Cook to join a well-established food manufacturer in Colchester, Essex, on a temporary ongoing basis.

Job Details:

• Location: Colchester, Essex
• Pay: �13.50 per hour
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
• Contract: Temporary Ongoing role (with the possibility of extension)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of basic dishes to a consistently high standard, ensuring that all ingredients are handled with care and that the final product meets company quality guidelines
• Heat and present two of each dish - one for tasting and the other for photography to showcase the product's appearance and quality
• Collaborate closely with the food production team to ensure that all food products are consistently prepared and presented according to company standards
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen, ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development, contributing ideas to enhance the overall quality and presentation of products
• Ensure kitchen equipment is well-maintained and report any maintenance issues promptly
• Manage food inventory and help with stock rotation, ensuring that food is fresh and ingredients are used efficiently

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food preparation, catering, or a similar kitchen role is preferred
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for food presentation and quality
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently, managing your time effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards
• A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well within a small, collaborative team
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Safety qualification is desirable)
