Job Overview: Seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Food Technology to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a passion for food and nutrition, and ensuring students develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge. This role requires a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Food Technology.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and school policies.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
Organise and supervise practical cooking sessions, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.
Foster a love for food, nutrition, and healthy eating habits among students.
Liaise with colleagues and parents to support student progress and well-being.
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events related to Food Technology.
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Food Technology or a related subject.
Experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Food Technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students with varied abilities.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and a willingness to embrace new teaching methods and technologies.
