Food Technology Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time maternity cover position, starting in January, teaching KS3 and KS4 students up to GCSE level.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• A commitment to fostering student's personal and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons aligned with the curriculum.
• Foster creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of food preparation and nutrition.
• Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student's work.
• Maintain a safe and well-organised classroom environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and support whole-school initiatives.
