Randstad Education is working with a vibrant secondary school in Manchester to recruit a talented Food Technology Teacher. If you have a passion for food education and hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), we want to hear from you!

As a Food Technology Teacher, you'll play a key role in delivering dynamic and engaging lessons that equip students with both practical culinary skills and theoretical knowledge of food science, nutrition, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Teach Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring lessons are creative, practical, and challenging.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that help students understand food science, nutrition, and healthy living.
  • Inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, from basic preparation techniques to more complex recipes.
  • Provide feedback and assessments to support student progress and achievement.
  • Work closely with the department and school leadership to improve curriculum delivery and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:


  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK is mandatory.
  • A strong background in Food Technology, including nutrition, cooking, and food science.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, with a proven track record of success in the schools of the UK.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for helping students develop their skills and knowledge in food education.
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with varying levels of ability.
