We are seeking an experienced and motivated Foreman Fitter to join our dynamic team. The Foreman Fitter will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our extensive fleet of plant machinery. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and the ability to manage a team of fitters effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of fitters, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and to the highest standards.


• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.


• Conduct regular team meetings and briefings to communicate job priorities, safety procedures, and company updates.


• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of plant machinery, including excavators, loaders, dumpers, and other heavy equipment.


• Diagnose faults and malfunctions, determining the most effective repair methods.


• Ensure all equipment is maintained in compliance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.


• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.


• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any issues promptly.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant with industry standards.


• Manage the inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.


• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to order necessary parts and materials.


• Monitor and report on equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and downtime.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a fitter, preferably in a supervisory or foreman role.


• Strong technical knowledge of plant machinery and equipment.


• Excellent leadership and team management skills.


• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems.


• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


• Valid driving license and any relevant certifications.
