Location: School is based in Langham Colchester
Salary: £90 - £140 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about outdoor learning and helping students develop confidence, resilience, and practical skills through nature? A therapeutic, inclusive school in Colchester is seeking an experienced Forest School Lead to guide students in nature-based learning experiences that support emotional and social development.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and deliver hands-on outdoor sessions that build resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence.
• Support students with SEMH needs in developing essential life skills such as problem-solving and cooperation.
• Foster curiosity, emotional regulation, and confidence through practical exploration of the natural world.
• Teach students how to engage with nature safely and responsibly.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety and well-being throughout all activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and LSAs to integrate outdoor learning into the curriculum.

Requirements:

• Forest School Leader Level 3 qualification (or working towards).
• Experience leading outdoor learning sessions, ideally with SEMH or SEN students.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A calm, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
