Independent Fostering Reviewing Officer (IRO)

Are you an experienced fostering professional looking for a flexible and rewarding role? We are seeking dedicated Independent Fostering Reviewing Officers (IROs) to join our client's team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and chair Foster Carer Reviews.
  • Complete review reports and present them to the Fostering Panel when required.
  • Develop reviewing service practice, policies, and systems.
  • Ensure all reviews are conducted within set timescales and adhere to organisational policies.
  • Liaise with foster carers, children in placement, and relevant professionals to ensure comprehensive, child-centered reviews.
  • Address any performance or practice issues promptly with the Fostering Service Manager.
  • Prepare for internal audits and OFSTED inspections.
  • Promote the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children, ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Care
  • Experience in fostering social care, preferably an IRO position
  • Social Work Wales Registration
