Freight Operator

Air Freight Operator - NW London

Our client are looking for a Freight Operator to join their growing team in North West London.
Job type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday - Standard office hours
Key Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety and security procedures at all times.
• Attend weekly operations meetings to stay aligned with team goals.
• Help with quoting and invoicing for local work.
• Ensure new clients have service agreements and existing clients have updated insurance agreements.
• Provide administrative support across all shipping departments (air, sea, road).
• Receive training in shipping to understand all departments and improve career growth.
• Assist with getting quotes from suppliers when needed.
• Keep Consignees and Consignors updated on shipments.
• Communicate with the Warehouse about staffing and resource needs for future projects.
• Help improve existing operational systems.
• Support the planning, costing, and execution of operations.

• Participate in training programs to improve skills and career progression.
• Be aware of health and safety practices, wear PPE, and follow company risk assessments.
• Attend a basic First Aid Awareness course if required.
• Provide high-quality communication with both internal teams and customers.
• Follow company policies, including health and safety and credit control guidelines.
• Work as part of a team and support colleagues with overlapping responsibilities.
• Act in the best interests of the company and its customers.
• Be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Experienced in freight forwarding for a UK based forwarder or similar
• Familiarity with the CDS system for both Imports and Exports.
• Team player with flexibility to work outside regular hours, including occasional weekend work.
• Right to work in the UK
