MFL French Teacher in Secondary School based in the Woking area

Starting September 2024

Pay to scale - £150-£220 per day

Location – Woking

Hours - 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary part-time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join our team in September. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French to students at KS4 level. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of languages and culture while contributing to the academic success and personal development of our students.

About the School:

The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in the Woking area. The school was graded as a ‘Good’ school in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in French, catering - to the diverse needs and abilities of students.

-          Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes enthusiasm for language learning and cultural understanding.

-          Implement a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate language acquisition, including communicative activities, multimedia resources, and authentic materials.

-          Assess student progress regularly through a range of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.

-          Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.

-          Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and international exchanges, to enhance students' language skills and cultural awareness.

Qualifications and Experience:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

-          Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field.

-          Proficiency in French, with the ability to teach these languages to a - high standard.

-          Proven experience teaching MFL at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering excellent results.

-          Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting language learning and intercultural competence.

-          Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

-          Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives.
