Monarch Education is currently seeking a passionate and skilled French Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Walsall. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an individual with a strong command of the French language and the ability to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality French lessons to students, helping them achieve their full potential and fostering a love for languages.

Key Responsibilities of a French Teacher:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring they are engaging, challenging, and accessible to all students.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the varying abilities and learning styles of students, ensuring that all learners can progress.
  • Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in French through interactive and creative teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback to support their development.

Curriculum Delivery:

  • Teach French in accordance with the school's curriculum and exam specifications, preparing students for their GCSE exams.
  • Promote an understanding of French culture, history, and traditions, helping students develop a global perspective.
  • Implement innovative teaching techniques to encourage enthusiasm for the French language and enhance student engagement.

Classroom Management:

  • Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment, promoting good behaviour and encouraging students to achieve their best.
  • Effectively manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a productive and focused learning atmosphere.

Assessment and Reporting:

  • Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
  • Use assessment data to inform future planning and intervention, ensuring all students receive the support they need.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, including attending parents' evenings and providing updates on student performance.

Support for Students:

  • Provide individual support for students, offering extra help or intervention for those who are struggling with the language.
  • Support the school's wider pastoral care system, helping students with their academic and personal development.
Key Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A degree in French or a related field - or Fluent French Speaker

Experience:

  • Proven experience of teaching French in a secondary school setting, with a good understanding of the national curriculum and GCSE requirements.
  • Experience of using a range of assessment methods to monitor and support student progress.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong subject knowledge of the French language and culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A creative and innovative approach to lesson planning and delivery.
  • Good classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain focus and discipline in the classroom.
  • A passion for languages and a desire to inspire students to achieve their best.
