Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for an experienced Front of House Team Member for our public sector client, based in Edinburgh city centre. The successful candidate will provide a front of house service at a Government building, with responsibility for access control to the building and providing security. This will be Monday to Friday, working on a rotational basis alternating between day shift and back shift.
Main duties:
- To deliver a high standard of Customer Care to both staff and visitors.
- To attend to visitors promptly and courteously within five minutes of their arrival.
- Maintain a professional standard of dress and behaviour at all times.
- Ensure that Reception area is clean and tidy at all times.
- To safeguard, at all times Scottish Government buildings, occupants, protectively marked material and other assets within these buildings.
- To control access by enforcing The Scottish Government Pass System.
- To make regular patrols of buildings (utilising Patrol Recording System where applicable)
- Where required, open and close car parks
- Accept deliveries of mail etc
- Control and issue of keys (to authorised staff).
- Monitors alarm systems and if sited, close circuit television.
- Maintain a log and various records as per instructed by line management.
- In the event of a fire, initiating emergency procedures and ensuring the fire brigade are summoned if required.
- Carrying out enhanced measures during "States of Alert" e.g. searching baggage, vehicles, etc.
- When required carry out spot checks/searching of vehicles and bulk or large packages.
- Any other Reception/Security duties as required by House Team management.
Skills/experience:
- Previous experience working in a Reception/Front of house role is essential
- Strong administration skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
- Ability to pick up and work with new IT systems and programmes
- Able to work as part of a team
- Positive and friendly demeanour when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
- First class customer service skills, both in person and over the phone
- Portray a professional manner at all times
- Positive and proactive manner
- Ability to multitask prioritising workload with great attention to detail as well as being highly organised
- Calm under pressure
