We are currently recruiting for a Classroom Teacher passionate about working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). This opportunity is ideal for a teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with a wide range of learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold and embody the school's ethos of empathy, inclusivity, and high standards of care.
  • Support the holistic development of children with Autism, SLCN, Global Developmental Delay, and other SEN through individualized education programs aligned with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Deliver a curriculum adapted to the unique needs of each pupil, fostering both academic and social growth.
  • Continuously assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, ensuring all achievements are carefully documented.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for Annual Reviews, integrating feedback from multidisciplinary teams.
  • Offer pastoral care, building strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil well-being.
  • Play an active role in the school's development, assisting with planning, monitoring, and the implementation of key goals.
  • Lead and inspire a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), conducting appraisals and providing guidance.
  • Support children in participating in therapeutic activities such as swimming, trampolining, and sensory integration exercises.
  • Maintain high-quality classroom displays that reflect pupil achievement and progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staying updated on best practices in SEN education.
  • Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Curriculum & Assessment:
  • Deliver a broad, balanced curriculum that meets the developmental and educational needs of each student.
  • Ensure all planning, assessment, and policy documentation is up to date and reflective of current educational standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of teaching strategies and adjust approaches based on pupil outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to staff to enhance the learning experience for pupils with SEN.
Physical Environment & Support:
  • Assist with the safe mobility of pupils, following protocols for handling and moving students where necessary.
  • Be involved in intimate care and the administration of medication when required.
  • Participate in therapeutic activities and ensure students' physical and emotional needs are supported.
