Main Activities/tasks:As the EE Functional Safety Lead within the Vehicle Engineering Group, you will play the leading role in the EE Functional Safety deliverables for all future vehicle projects. This is a role for a hands-on self-starter that is comfortable both defining FuSa and SOTIF processes and procedures and conducting hands-on FuSa analysis and design.The main Tasks and activities will be as follows:Definition of Functional Safety organisation, management system and processes.Lead FuSa and SOTIF activities for all future B-on products.Definition of Functional Safety Concept and Technical Safety Concept.Creation, refinement and maintenance of Project Safety Case.Audit and control of functional safety processes.Additional Tasks as follows:Mentoring and training of VJV staff as requiredCore RequirementsExperience:A minimum of ten years’ experience is essential and preferably most of this will be in automotive.Must have direct experience of leading functional safety activities for a complex system incorporating several electronic control units.Extensive hands-on experience of delivering functional safety artefacts, ideally at whole vehicle level. Ideally some of this experience will be with EVs.Evidence of having followed ISO26262 to successful delivery of at least one major project.Previous experience of electronic hardware design and/or embedded software design in a project following ISO26262.Ideally the candidate will have experience of the full development V-cycle.Experience of cyber-security highly desirableExperience of Model Driven System Engineering highly desirableSkills:In depth working knowledge of functional safety standards e.g. IEC61508, DO 178B/C, ISO26262.Fully conversant with the entire FuSa development process.Knowledge and application of SOTIF and ISO 21448.DFMEA, FTA, FTTI, FMEDA, FIT rate calculation, defensive software design.Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills. Experience of working with Chinese vehicle manufacturers desirable.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related discipline with appropriate industrial experience.Other Requirements:Willingness to travel between the UK and China as needed.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
