Coyne Recruitment work with the leading and most reputable organisations across the Employability and Skills sector. We are currently looking to support a fantastic organisation recruit for a highly skilled Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English).





Main Responsibilities



Working mainly in a classroom environment you will be expected to facilitate the effective and efficient learning and assessment of learners undergoing Functional Skills Maths & English qualifications.




  • Responsible for helping students to understand their learning topics.

  • Assess, assist and encourage the students in the learning processes.�

  • Review materials used in classes, explain various topics, and answers all the doubts and questions of the student regarding to that topic.

  • Adapt lesson plans and schemes of work dependent on you learner needs and requirements.

  • Create an engaging and motivational learning environment.

  • Be able to differentiate your course content to allow students with different learner styles to engage fully.

  • Maintain learner's individual files and tracking documents/registers ensuring assessments are completed to the required standards.

  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all portfolios meet the relevant quality and standard.

  • Managing learner behaviour in the classroom and on company premises.

  • Support the implementation and development of the Functional Skills (FS) Strategy.�

  • Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.

  • Support the development of this area of curriculum provision.

  • Keep and maintain accurate records of assessments in candidate's logbooks as well as in Company documents and retrieval systems according to the Company and awarding body requirements whilst complete all administrative work concerned.





Qualifications, Experience & Requirements the post holder must have:




  • Literacy & Numeracy qualifications at Level 2 or above

  • A good knowledge of IT based systems

  • Experience of coaching/mentoring people with mixed abilities

  • A minimum of a level 3 teaching qualification / 7307 / PTTLS
