Educated Appointments are delighted to be supporting a DfE accredited and Ofsted outstanding training company providing apprenticeships, professional development in hiring a Functional Skills Tutor to join their team.

Main Purpose



Our client are seeking an experience Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality training to exceed awarding body quality standards for functional skills, in the workplace or remotely using Teams, as appropriate to the learners’ requirements.



Responsibilities



Training and assessment




  • Complete functional skills reviews with learners and identify skill and knowledge gaps

  • Develop and take responsibility for the delivery of individual training plans tailored to learner needs

  • Maintain records relevant to individual learners on Bud

  • Access and work with BKSB software and analytics as applicable

  • Deliver high-quality training to exceed awarding body quality standards for functional skills, in the workplace or remotely using Teams, as appropriate to the learners’ requirements

  • Work closely with the Exams Officer to ensure learners are prepared to sit exams as swiftly as possible whilst on programme

  • Deliver training using approved training resources for groups or individuals

  • Deliver lessons using Teams Classroom

  • Ensure all learners attend sessions as per the minimum requirements and missed sessions are recovered, e.g. recordings are watched or one to one sessions booked

  • Support Tutors to ensure they take full responsibility for their learners and set, monitor and record progress and follow the exam protocol 



Co-ordination and Support




  • Monitor learner progress and provide support in completion of exams working closely with the Tutors and Exams Officer

  • Detailing, monitoring, recording and reporting of learner progress to Exams Officer and Apprenticeship Tutors

  • Supply information to employees and employers to support apprenticeship programmes

  • Provide appropriate data and information regarding the programmes and learners as required and contribute to the regular self-assessment monitoring process

  • Attend CPD and Standardisation events as appropriate (remotely and at the office as required)



Administration




  • Complete all relevant documentation in order to progress the recording of new learners on the programme in collaboration with the Admin Team and Bud software

  • Ensure Outlook calendar is up to date at all times

  • Maintain documentation that records the progress of learners on programme against specified targets

  • Ensure Team’s Classroom calendar is up to date with the next term’s sessions available

  • Complete documentation in relation to visits to employers and relationships with learners and employers on Bud

  • Ensure timely achievement of all learners on programme and moving learners to the next level if required 



Essential Criteria



Hold a qualification or have experience in delivering high quality functional skills training at Level 1 and 2 remotely and face to face



Hold Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications



Have experience of working with employers in a training or customer relations role



Able to develop strong professional relationships with employers and learners



Have strong IT skills and be willing to work with e-portfolio’s



Can motivate learners and ensure they complete on time



Hold a full driving licence, have own vehicle and be willing to travel to customer sites.



Have high levels of motivation and the ability to use own initiative
