SMC823 – Fund Accountant – Renewable Energy

Excellent opportunity for a qualified Accounting professional, with strong knowledge/understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP to join a large, international Non-Banking Financial Institution. The successful candidate will join an existing team and will be responsible for planning and preparing financial reports for a portfolio of Renewable Energy funds, ensuring that reporting deadlines are met.

Responsibilities include:

* Responsibility for the planning and preparation of financial reports for a portfolio of Renewable Energy funds, ensuring that reporting deadlines are met and that the delivery of client accounting requirements is in compliance with the Company’s contractual obligations.

* Ensuring that current accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS or US GAAP) and best practice principles are applied to the accounts production process.

* Establishing and setting up reporting for new funds based on fund documents and client reporting requirements.

* Calculating Net Asset Values.

* Attending board meetings / client meetings to present accounts and discuss accounting related matters.

* Liaising with auditors.

* Ensuring that regulatory and statutory reporting requirements are met.

* Ensuring that Company policies and procedures are used and adhered to within the accounts team and assisting in the continuing development of these.

Skills & experience required:

* ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent).

* Solid accounting skills and technical accounting knowledge.

* Strong knowledge/understanding of accounting standards (i.e. IFRS and UK GAAP).

* Strong attention to detail.

* Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

* Strong IT skills, including MS Excel.
