Do you have a passion for nature, wildlife, and conservation?

Want to help protect the environment and make a real impact?

Join our team as a Membership Recruiter and help raise awareness and funds for the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Northamptonshire Wildlife Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate team that inspires people to support vital conservation efforts.

As a Membership Recruiter, you'll be working across pre-booked venues, shows, and events within the three counties. Your role will involve engaging with members of the public, talking to them about the important work of the Wildlife Trust, and encouraging them to become long-term supporters through membership sign-ups.

Typically, you will be working 8 hours per day, in different locations throughout the counties.  Information of location is given by rota on a Friday for the following week.

We operate fully remotely, but you're never working alone. Our team leaders, lead fundraisers, and managing director stay in regular contact to ensure you feel supported, especially during your first year. We believe in open communication, collaboration, and sharing best practices to help everyone succeed. Even though we don't see each other in person often, you'll feel like a valued member of the CF Family, where mutual support is at the heart of what we do.

This role is perfect for someone looking to feel fulfilled by their work—whether you're retired, semi-retired, or looking for part-time opportunities to make a positive difference!

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Passionate about wildlife, nature, and conservation
  • A persuasive and engaging communicator, confident in face-to-face interactions
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, able to work independently and travel daily
  • Enjoy working in different environments, with the flexibility to adapt to various locations
  • Previous experience in fundraising or direct sales is highly desirable
  • Must hold a full driving licence and have your own vehicle
  • Open to weekend work and enjoy the variety that comes with travelling between venues

What will your role look like?

  • Set up and represent the Wildlife Trust at different venues across the counties each day
  • Approach and engage with the public to explain the charity's work, encouraging regular giving
  • Set up an attractive display with provided materials (gazebo, boards, and table)
  • Sign people up using a tablet and Evergiving system, ensuring full disclosure
  • Be an advocate for wildlife conservation and the charity, acting with professionalism at all times
  • Provide feedback on venues and report any issues promptly
  • Work closely with venue organisers and event staff to establish your set-up for the day

What can you expect in return?

  • Make a difference by helping protect wildlife and support conservation efforts
  • Be part of a friendly, supportive team with excellent training and ongoing support
  • Competitive pay with a generous remuneration package
  • The induction includes HR, H&S, general training, a visit to the charity head office, and technical/equipment training, followed by two weeks in the field with a team leader
  • There are opportunities for progression to Lead Fundraiser or Team Leader for the right candidate
  • Flexible part-time hours (3 or 4 days a week)
  • Equivalent of 6 weeks leave annual leave, including bank holidays (pro-rata based on working days)
  • Uniform, equipment (including tablet), and travel expenses provided
  • Accommodation is provided if staying away overnight
  • Pension (3% employer, 5% employee)
  • 25p a mile
  • Long service award

The interview process will begin with an initial call to confirm the role details and ensure it's aligned with your expectations. The stages are as follows:

  • First Stage: A telephone interview lasting 30-45 minutes.
  • Second Stage: A field visit, lasting 1-2 hours.
  • Final Stage: A 30-minute interview via Microsoft Teams.

All interviews are designed to be fairly informal, providing an opportunity for open discussion.
