We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team of Gambling Engagement Practitioners, based in Sunderland. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals affected by gambling harms and contribute to a healthier and happier North East region.

What You'll Do:


  • Reach out to communities: Connect with individuals in your local area, raising awareness of the harms associated with gambling and providing vital support services.
  • Offer tailored interventions: Provide personalised guidance and support to individuals experiencing gambling-related issues.
  • Empower individuals: Help people understand the nature of gambling harms, build resilience, and create positive change in their lives.
  • Collaborate with a team: Work alongside a dedicated team of professionals to share expertise and ensure a seamless and supportive approach.

What You'll Need:


  • A passion for helping others: Genuine empathy and a strong desire to make a difference in people's lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills: The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to ethical and professional practices: Adherence to relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Equivalent Level 4 Diploma in a relevant subject: Such as Health & Social Care, Counselling, or Psychology.

What We Offer:


  • Competitive salary: £27,864 per annum.
  • Generous benefits: 24 days plus bank holidays annual leave (increasing to 30 days plus bank holidays after one year), mileage allowance, and opportunities for professional development.

  • Flexible working: Full-time (35 hours) Monday - Friday with flexibility for some evening / weekend working.
