Gas Engineer – Watton

Contract Personnel are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer for a well-established family run business based in & around Watton.

How does the day-to-day look?


  • Install, service, and maintain gas heating systems, including boilers, gas ovens, and other gas-powered appliances
  • Ensure systems are working efficiently and meet safety standards
  • Install and maintain gas meters, ensuring accurate readings and proper functioning
  • Perform regular inspections and safety checks on gas meters
  • Diagnose and repair faults in gas heating systems, pipes, valves, meters, and gauges
  • Address any issues with gas flow or pressure to ensure smooth operation
  • Monitor and repair underground gas piping systems, checking for leaks or potential safety hazards
  • Inspect and maintain gas storage tanks, ensuring proper gas supply and safe storage conditions
  • Identify potential leaks and other technical issues in gas systems, addressing them promptly and safely
  • Ensure all gas systems comply with relevant safety regulations and standards
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to service calls and addressing customer concerns efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with customers about issues, repairs, and safety measures, explaining complex technical information in an understandable way

You will have:


  • To be able to travel within 20 miles radius
  • Driving License (company van provided)
  • Level 3 NVQ or SVQ Diploma in Gas Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience working with gas heating systems and gas appliances
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to gas systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and explain technical information clearly
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle emergency situations

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am till 4:30pm

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
