General Counsel

Location: London (hybrid)

Salary: Up to �130,000 plus bonus

We have been exclusively instructed by our client, who is a leading provider of managed communications, cloud services, and network solutions, enhancing business communications and IT infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join the executive team.

Position Overview: The General Counsel will be overseeing all legal matters and a legal team of 4, ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and supporting business objectives. This role requires extensive experience in commercial law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance within the technology or telecommunications sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, negotiate and redact B2B commercial contracts, including master service agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Drafting and providing training to the business on key legal areas and risks as required (such as Bribery Act, GDPR, Modern Slavery and IT security)
  • Oversee the legal department, including in-house and external counsel.
  • Looking after the standard company secretarial activities: prepare the agendas for board meetings and attend the board meetings to prepare the minutes.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support business growth.
  • Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting the company.
  • Conduct internal legal training and promote legal awareness.
