This company provide a range of precision engineering and aviation services to maintain, repair and overhaul a range of aircraft components. With decades of experience offering services from Engine component repair and overhaul to NDT, FTP and MPI inspection services, quality is at the heart of everything they do.

This role will see the successful candidate leading a team of 25 like-minded engineers to continued success within the highly regulated Aerospace industry. With the business playing an integral role within wider group operations, constant business and efficiency improvement is essential. The Role:

  • Day to day leadership and accountability for the company to ensure business strategy is delivered by enabling and supporting all structures, staff, system and processes
  • Engage the Group CEO and Board, highlighting strategies, including long-term planning and produce to meet business plans and investment requirements
  • Delivering sales and growth by developing the order pipeline, developing brand awareness and prompting a responsive and customer focused approach
  • Acting as the most senior point of contact with customers, including major international firms in the aerospace sector
  • Produce response for "Request For Quotes" including pricing and turnaround times
  • Ensuring customer orders and contracts are fully met in accordance with specifications within the Scope of Approvals
  • Ownership of quality and delivery performance from the operation in conjunction with efficiency and cost reductions
  • Assuming ultimate responsibility for the recruitment and management of the companies employees, initiating workforce skills training programmes to ensure staff capabilities meet business needs
  • Create a culture of engagement, involvement and continuous improvement that drives effectiveness and efficiency whilst challenging existing practices, identifying projects that reduce cost and enhance quality standards
  • Implementing the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety policies within the organisation, conducting regular compliance reviews
  • Remaining conversant and aware of industry trends and pertinent regulations affecting the business

The Person:

  • Proven operational focus coupled with leadership skills, staff management and development
  • Technically astute and product focused with experience in production management and lean principals in Aerospace and Defence
  • Experience implementing robust procedures to identify customer needs, enhance quality, better understand capability and improve lead times
  • IT literate with developed planning organisational skills with knowledge of TracWare or AeroTrac is highly advantageous
