General Foreman - Heavy Engineering

Sterling Recruitment Services are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Foreman for our heavy engineering client based in Wallsend.
Our client are� a multidisciplinary and international construction company with an established reputation in the�engineering, production, supply and assembly of heavy, technically complex and architectural steel structures.

Key job duties:

• Responsible for safety and coordination of production area


• Planning manpower, time and plant resources


• Area supervision of labour.


• Ensuring area is safely clear of trades in preparation for assembly/production.


• Planning production area activities around a month in advance.

Person specification:

• The ideal person will be time served plater, plating supervisor or general foreman within a heavy steel fabrication setting.


• Must be able to read engineering drawings.


• Must have a flexible approach to work and be able to work as part of a team.


• A no-nonsense approach to work with the ability to inspire others.
