We offer a bold, accessible, and innovative Filipino BBQ experience, designed for those eager to celebrate, explore, and feed their curiosity for Filipino cuisine and culture. We are excited to be opening our first establishment in the heart of Tooting Broadway.
With a cosy 40-cover restaurant and bar, we provide an adventurous dining experience, combining the vibrant flavours of Filipino cuisine with a relaxed, upbeat, and modern atmosphere. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager (GM) to lead our team, drive business growth, and ensure the highest level of service and operational excellence.

Job Overview
As the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Turo Turo, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing staff, overseeing customer service, handling financial management, and ensuring that the restaurant adheres to health and safety standards. The General Manager will also play a key role in shaping the future growth of Turo Turo, contributing to the overall business strategy and ensuring that both revenue and service targets are met.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management : Lead, motivate, and manage the entire restaurant team, including front-of-house, kitchen staff, and management. Create a positive working environment and ensure the team delivers high standards of service.

Operational Excellence : Oversee all operational aspects of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow, kitchen efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Financial Management : Take full responsibility for the financial performance of the restaurant, including setting budgets, controlling costs, and managing profit and loss. Develop strategies to optimize profitability and achieve revenue targets.

Customer Experience : Ensure guests receive an exceptional dining experience from start to finish, addressing any complaints or issues swiftly and professionally.

Menu Development : Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the menu remains fresh, innovative, and aligned with Turo Turos concept. Assist in planning seasonal or promotional menus to drive business.

Inventory & Stock Control : Manage stock levels, liaise with suppliers, and ensure that food and drink supplies are ordered efficiently to reduce waste and control costs.

Marketing & Business Development : Collaborate with marketing to promote the restaurant through events, social media, and community engagement. Drive customer growth and retention strategies.

Health & Safety Compliance : Ensure the restaurant adheres to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations, including maintaining high cleanliness standards in all areas of the restaurant.

Reporting & Strategy : Provide regular updates to the owners on restaurant performance, including sales figures, staff performance, and customer feedback. Contribute to the long-term strategy and expansion plans for the restaurant.

Staff Recruitment & Training : Lead recruitment efforts and oversee the training and development of staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high standards of service.

Problem Solving : Handle day-to-day challenges and operational issues efficiently, ensuring that service remains smooth even during peak periods.

Requirements: Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a General Manager or similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry, preferably in a similar-sized venue.

Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team, creating a productive and positive work environment.

Operational Expertise : Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including financial management, health and safety, and stock control.

Customer-Centric Approach : Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a memorable guest experience.

Financial Acumen : Strong understanding of profit and loss management, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Marketing Insight : Ability to identify opportunities for business growth and implement promotional and marketing strategies.

Problem Solving : A proactive approach to identifying issues and resolving them quickly and efficiently.

Flexibility : Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on the demands of the business.

Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with staff, customers, and suppliers.

What We Offer: Competitive salary between £38,000- £42,000 depending on experience.
