We have an ambitious vision for 2025: to be known as one of the greatest pubs in Great Britain, offering the best Sunday experience in Yorkshire, and becoming the favourite local employer. We seek a dynamic General Manager or Management Couple to lead our team and help us achieve these goals.
Purpose-Driven Responsibilities:
This role is more than just managing a pub; it's about embodying our core purpose and bringing it to life daily. Your key responsibilities, aligned with our five key objectives, will be:
1. Championing Fanatical Service (1 Pub declaring war on the QR Code): You will be the driving force behind creating a truly personal and memorable guest experience. This involves:
* Instilling a culture of genuine hospitality and anticipating guest needs.
* Ensuring every interaction is warm, welcoming, and efficient.
* Leading by example, always demonstrating exceptional service standards.
* Driving a personal, human touch in service, moving away from reliance on technology like QR codes.
2. Creating Unforgettable Memories (Weddings & Events): You will play a vital role in ensuring our weddings and events are seamless and unforgettable. This involves:
* Working closely with our Weddings & Events Superstar to deliver exceptional events.
* Overseeing the smooth operation of events, ensuring every detail is perfect.
* Contributing to the development of unique and memorable event experiences.
3. Building a Great British Pub: You will be instrumental in establishing The Stone Trough Inn as a leading pub in the UK. This involves:
* Maintaining and elevating the quality of our food, drinks, and overall atmosphere.
* Developing innovative food and drink specials and staying ahead of industry trends.
* Promoting the pub within the local community and beyond.
4. Delivering the Best Sunday Experience in Yorkshire: You will lead the team in creating the ultimate Sunday destination. This involves:
* Ensuring our Sunday service is exceptional, from the roast dinner to the atmosphere.
* Creating a vibrant and welcoming buzz that keeps guests coming back.
* Constantly seeking ways to enhance the Sunday experience.
5. Becoming the Favourite Local Employer: You will promote a positive and supportive work environment where our team can thrive. This involves:
* Recruiting, training, and developing your high-performing team.
* Creating a culture of recognition, appreciation, and personal growth.
* Implementing effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing all aspects of the pub's operation, including service, product quality, financial performance, and legal compliance.
* Managing and motivating the team, nurturing a positive and productive work environment.
* Developing and implementing operational, strategies to drive business growth and achieve our goals.
* Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
* Managing budgets, costs, and profitability.
* Working closely with the owner to drive the overall business strategy.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in hospitality management, a true hospitalitarian.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
* Ability to work under pressure and spin multiple plates.
* Flexibility to work patterns, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
