Company overview We are a family run business that offers a range of landscape services to both residential and construction clients installing soft and hard landscaping across new build developments, country parks and outdoor spaces. We have strong relationships with small, medium and large house builders and are committed to delivering quality and ensuring client satisfaction. Job description As the general manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating multiple landscape projects simultaneously. You will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and our in-house teams to ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in overseeing the successful execution of our landscape projects by proactively managing the teams of landscapers and ensuring that the work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. In addition, you will build strong relationships with the management team and play an active role in identifying opportunities to enhance the company s service offerings and processes. By being proactive in recognising and securing additional work, you will help drive the company s growth and maximise its revenue potential. As general manager you will work with the management team to oversee the general running of the business, its systems, and processes. Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Managing all aspects of client contracts from tender to completion To coordinate and plan the instillation of works Leading and motivating the teams Manage variations to the contract Assist in the design and enhancements for show homes and marketing suites Assist in managing remedial works and customer care reports Build strong working relationships with clients Actively lead the management of Health and Safety in the workplace Attend client meetings Perform ad hoc duties as required Experience Experience working within the construction industry Proven experience managing at a senior level Experience of working to high standards and leading a team Experience of handling difficult contractual situations Competent in IT, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to manage financial budgets and forecasting effectively. Horticultural or industry accredited qualification desirable Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices including completing risk assessments, tool box talks and method statements Detailed knowledge of hard and soft landscaping with the capacity to learn new skills to develop Excellent customer service skills Possess strong horticultural knowledge, effective time management, and excellent administrative skills Hold a full, clean driver s licence Personal qualities Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing situations with flexibility Ability to work on own initiative Highly organised Flexible - can do attitude. Proactive - good at finding solutions and getting the job done.
