The Client:

Our client is a reputable educational firm, committed to providing a high-quality learning environment with a focus on fostering academic excellence.

The Role:

As a Geography / Sociology Teacher, you will lead the teaching of designated subjects, contributing to curriculum development. This role is well-suited for an Early Career Teacher (ECT), who will receive support and mentorship through effective ECT training program.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the development of syllabuses and schemes of work.
  • Implement appropriate differentiation, including joint planning with LSAs.
  • Share best practices within the academic community.
  • Actively contribute to the subject SEF and Academy Improvement Plan (AIP).
  • Set and assess classwork and homework, ensuring progress monitoring.
  • Supervise and maintain subject-specific rooms, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Prioritise the safety and well-being of students.
  • Act as a pastoral tutor and teach PSHCE where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Previously worked as a Geography Teacher or in a similar role.
  • Qualified teacher certification and up-to-date subject expertise.
  • Possess additional professional qualifications.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Ability to plan demanding, stimulating, and relevant work.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE / GCE syllabuses.
  • Skilled in instructing IB Social and Cultural Anthropology. (Beneficial)
  • Experience in school clubs / activities and whole school improvement. (Desirable)
