JOB OPPORTUNITY: GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

JT Recruit is recruiting for a top-class client based in Burton on Trent for a Full time Geotechnical Engineer position. The salary starts from £30,000 per annum, but can increase depending on experience.
About the Client
Our client is a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental services in the UK. They specialise in site investigations, geotechnical design, and environmental consulting. Working in sectors such as construction and infrastructure, they ensure projects meet regulations and provide effective solutions.
Duties:
Design, supervise, and manage site investigations, including costing and liaising with subcontractors.
Carry out geotechnical design for slope stability, settlement, retaining structures, and earthworks.
Prepare interpretative reports related to geotechnical and environmental aspects.
Mentor and manage junior technical staff.
Prepare Health & Safety documentation and assist with project-related safety information.
Attend site meetings and liaise with clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
Degree in Earth Sciences.
At least 4 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years in geo-environmental fieldwork and geotechnical design.
Willingness to work outdoors year-round, including some travel and irregular hours.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good teamwork abilities and the capacity to build strong relationships with clients and contractors.
Ability to adapt to changing situations and client requests.
Knowledge of British Standards for logging soil and rock.
Familiarity with UK regulatory guidance.
Experience with Holebase, CAD, QGIS, Slide, and Geo5 is an advantage (training will be provided).
First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, and CSCS qualifications (training available).
Membership in the Geological Society (or similar) and considering Chartered status.
Full UK Driving License (manual).
Must demonstrate the right to work in the UK.
