Are you a passionate and innovative language teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a rural school setting? A thriving academy located on the picturesque outskirts of Taunton, is seeking to appoint a part-time Teacher of German to join a dedicated Languages department from September 2024.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed German Teacher to teach on a part-time basis (0.4-0.5). The ability to teach a second language, preferably Spanish, is highly desirable. The Languages department is housed in its own building, fostering a strong sense of team spirit and collaboration.

The academy prides itself on its high standards and exceptional outcomes in language education. The commitment to entering all students for a language qualification has resulted in EBACC entry and outcome rates that are consistently higher than both county and national averages. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a skilled linguist to contribute to a well-respected and dynamic department, enhancing outcomes for our learners and the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
● Deliver high-quality German lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
● Develop engaging and effective schemes of work and resources
● Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement
● Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental improvement
● Support and inspire students to achieve their best possible outcomes in German
● Participate in extracurricular activities, language clubs, and school events related to the Languages department

The Successful Candidate Will:
● Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a degree in German or languages
● Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a track record of excellent outcomes
● Have up-to-date curriculum knowledge and a forward-thinking approach
● Be a passionate and innovative advocate for languages education
● Be committed to improving the life chances of young people through high-quality teaching
● Specialise in teaching German at KS3 and KS4 levels
● Enjoy working collaboratively within a team-oriented department
