About the Role The Global Financial Controller will report to the Head of Strategy and Finance, support leadership by providing accurate and timely information for decision making, manage a high-functioning and globally compliant accounting organisation, and help maximise the return on financial assets by establishing and enforcing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. What You'll Be Doing Team Leadership: Lead the Accounting Department and develop a team of full-time employees and contractors by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and fostering strong employee relationships. Financial Reporting: Own the month-end and year-end close processes to prepare and publish timely and accurate financial reporting for management and the Board of Directors. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure financial compliance across multiple entities and geographies; managing local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Audit & Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and lead end-to-end global audit processes with external auditors. Cash Flow/Working Capital Management: Own cash flow management and forecasting for both operating cash and customer deposits to inform strategic decision making. Systems and Tools: Leverage existing systems (Xero, Tipalti, SVB, etc.) and implement new tools to improve reconciliations, processes, analyses, and reporting, and identify process efficiencies. Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Lead strategic financial infrastructure projects and make key decisions around accounting treatment for emerging business scenarios in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders. About You Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience including Big 4 public accounting and/or experience leading Accounting/Finance functions at a high-growth global startup (ideally SaaS and/or Marketplace). Experience with a global company with US & UK entities Management experience developing and supporting a high functioning global team. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results. Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, particularly with application of ASC 606, recent accounting standards and processes as they apply to SaaS business models. Experience with managing international accounting requirements, IFRS a plus. Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills. Modern process and tool thinking, specifically working with SaaS and Marketplace-focused financial technology Advanced MS Excel skills are critical; experience with Xero/Quickbooks, Netsuite (or other Tier 1 ERP), Hubspot and/or SFDC a plus Attention to accuracy and detail required.
