Job DescriptionBackgroundPelsis Group is a global provider of pest control solutions, meeting both professional and consumer needs with a broad span of products and brands.This role is part of a new team designed to leverage a global approach to managing strategically important products across the Group, spanning all business regions and channels.We are looking for an entrepreneurial Global Portfolio Lead to identify and exploit growth opportunities within a specified product portfolio across the group.Working alongside Regional Product Managers, you will ensure that customer needs are heard and met, working closely with colleagues from a broad range of functions.This role will drive innovation in our product offer, targeting profitable growth and leveraging best practice from around the group.The role will be responsible for developing the strategy for the specified portfolio and ensuring that operational objectives are met.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own the portfolio strategic plan, operational plan, goals and objectivesContribute to the Regional Strategic Market PlansBuild the product roadmap based on insights and strategy for the portfolioResponsible for the portfolio product lifecycleEnsure portfolio is in-line with Pelsis VisionResponsible for running the Innovation Triangle (Portfolio, Marketing, R&D/Design) and the Commercial Triangle (Portfolio, Sales and Marketing) for the portfolioCompetitor analysis, analyse market dynamics and competitorsUnderstand user needs and develop relationships with key accountsTrack and follow customer and consumer trendsPropose ways to win market share in each marketDrive New Product Development, building global business cases and working alongside engineering teams to ensure delivery to the briefWork closely with Supply Chain teams to manage strategic suppliersLead portfolio discussions and presentations during range reviewsWork closely with Regional Product Managers, Sales Directors and General Managers to define range and commercial strategyResponsible for the portfolio catalogue, including unique selling propositions, together with product marketingResponsible for price positioning (launch pricing and pricing management)Own the product messaging, working with Brand & Marketing for communications and POS definitionDevelop product performance/testing methodologiesLine management of Global Portfolio Manager(s) as requiredCandidate RequirementsProven work experience as Portfolio/Category/Product Lead or similar roleExperience of working within technical product roles is essential, with digital/connected technologies an advantageHighly commercial, with an entrepreneurial approachInnovative mindsetStrong influencing skills; a strong personality who inspires confidence and is good at establishing strong relationships: Is impactful, motivational and able to delegate and sell ideasOutstanding communication skillsAbility to create high-level view and prioritise strategicallyData and analysis literateConfident in data-led decision makingExperience of managing product-line profitabilityAbility to work across channels and segment usersAbility to work with cross-functional and cross-regional teamsFluent in Business-EnglishCandidate will need to ensure a regular presence in our West Midlands based development & manufacturing site, as well as occasional travel to the Group’s regional offices, customers, suppliers and tradeshows.We are an inclusive employer and hire those best fit for the role regardless of protected characteristics such as race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetics, disability or age.
