Job DescriptionWe are currently working in partnership with a regional Housing Association in Northern England, who are recruiting for a Governance manager on a temporary 3-month contract, with the potential to go full time. The rate of pay is negotiable dependent on experience.The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of governance and regulatory compliance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead initiatives. Previous experience in social housing is essential.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Reporting into the Head of Governance and managing a team of three advisors primarily supporting business as usual with a focus on membership appraisal and ensuring team are coordinated with respective committeesLeading and managing communications within the team and more widely support the Head of Governance, Risk and AssuranceKeeping up to date with good practice in Governance and Regulatory compliance, recommending and implementing changes for continual growthSet clear expectations of all individuals, discussing performance regularly to motivate and live our culture and valuesProvide guidance and expertise on governance matters to the Board, Committees, Executive and Directors, as required, building strong relationships with these senior stakeholdersDemonstrate strong legislative knowledge with awareness of current changes as they relate to the Regulator of Social Housing, the Financial Services Authority, Companies House and the Charities CommissionExperience required:Experience required in Social HousingExperience of successfully managing Board and Committee administrationExperience of managing budgets and controlling expenditureSkills, knowledge and expertise required:Risk assessment and managementStrong managerial and teamwork skillsCompliance and due diligenceStrong communication skillsWorking hours:35 hours per week, flexible agile working Monday to FridayEvening meetings 5:30-7:00pm when requiredBoard Meeting (on-site)Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
