Our groundbreaking Capacitive Transfer System (CTS) technology addresses the inefficiencies inherent in traditional power cables, significantly reducing energy losses and carbon emissions.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Graduate Electrical Research Engineer at Enertechnos located in Kingston Upon Thames. As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to cutting-edge research projects, design experiments, and develop advanced electrical systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of technology and make meaningful contributions to our organization.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute electrical and electro-mechanical studies to understand performance of planned commercial and test systems; receive and address feedback in a structured wayUtilisation of coding and automation tools to understand possible design options and to progress cable and system modelling capabilitiesGeneration of technical reports – technical and cost benefit analysis for proposed systems, academic papers and updating in response to feedbackCommunication of findings to technical and non-technical audiences with a view to commercial implications of engineering decisionsSpecification and purchasing/ hire of equipmentPlanning of tests, work method statements and risk assessments to ensure that team activities are safe and efficientGet updated and apply applicable industry standardsMaintenance of records of inventions, patent applications, design logsRequirementsAt minimum a bachelor (masters preferred) level education in electrical engineeringPlacement experience within the energy, LV or MV distribution sector beneficialAbility to find solutions to challenges (commercial, technical and practical) with creative and unconventional thinking skillsKnowledge of Python or other programming language beneficial/ preferred.Ability to work in diverse teamsStrong sense of self-directionExperience with electrical lab equipment including oscilloscopes, Ohm meters, power supply units and multi-metersAble to contribute to multiple concurrent projectsProficiency in simulation tools and software related to electrical engineering research. Power system modelling and finite element/ electro-magnetic studies.
