GCH focus on the deployment of electrolytic hydrogen projects as a key part of the global energy transition and de-carbonisation strategy. The business works closely with sister companies through the planning, permitting/licensing, engineering and design and construction of green hydrogen projects.We are seeking a motivated and talented Graduate Engineer with an electro-mechanical background to support various engineering and project management tasks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, gaining valuable experience in the hydrogen and/or renewable energy sector.The Role:Assist in the design and optimisation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.Prepare and maintain detailed reports, technical documents, and project-specific studies. This includes equipment data sheets, control drawings, and standard mechanical and electrical drawings.Perform engineering calculations under the guidance of senior engineers, including equipment sizing, and fire protection calculations.Aid in the development of plot plans, key plans, piping isometrics, and various layout drawings. Participate in engineering and project meetings and provide technical support as needed.In future, assist in the testing, validation, and commissioning of new systems and equipment, ensuring they operate as intended.Ensure all work adheres to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and technologies.The Candidate must have:A recent engineering degree in a relevant discipline (such as electrical, mechanical, mechatronics or related discipline) to a bachelor’s level or higher.A strong academic record demonstrating technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.Basic understanding of mechanical (and/or electrical systems), fire protection, and piping.Proficiency in using engineering software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Willingness to travel as necessary, supported by a valid UK driving license.Legal right to work full-time in the United Kingdom, in perpetuity.The Candidate would benefit from:Relevant internship or work experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements.Active membership in recognised engineering institutions or societies.The employment package:Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.Private Medical Healthcare 25 Days annual leave and 8 flexible bank holidaysCycle to work schemeProfessional development opportunities and support.
