Job Title: Graduate Management Accountant �
Location: Carlisle



Hours: 37.5 hours a week- Monday- Friday | Office Based Role



Candidates must live in Carlisle and be prepared to commute to office daily



Salary: Competitive DOE



Our client, a national leader in the retail sector are looking for a Graduate Management Accountant to join their team based at the Carlisle Office. As a Graduate Management Accountant, your primary function is to support the finance team in the daily operational functions within your department. You will also learn to develop key cross functional relationships with internal departments, external suppliers and our overseas sourcing offices



This position is ideal for someone who is looking to forge a career in finance, within a head office environment. As well as being part of an exciting and dynamic buying team you will also have the opportunity to gain an industry recognised qualification within your first 18 months



Job responsibilities




  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts, within the agreed timetable, with responsibility for specified cost lines in the retail profit and loss accounts for each store

  • Analyse variances to budget and prior years

  • Provide support and answer queries on store accounts from store managers, area managers and the Retail and Finance Directors

  • Produce information for and attend Finance Review meetings to review store performance. Take minutes of the meeting and follow up action points arising

  • Prepare and post regular monthly journals

  • Reconcile control accounts and post any correcting journals required

  • Assist with the production of budgets and forecasts for specified cost lines

  • Ad hoc duties as required



Ideal Candidate




  • Be educated to degree level in a finance related degree

  • Ideally worked in a financial capacity before.

  • Have excellent computer skills, particularly excel.

  • Have a keen interest in Fashion.

  • Have good time management skills.

  • Able to work as part of a team.

  • Able to work in a fast paced industry.

  • Have a passion for retail.

  • Have excellent people skills/ relationship management skills.

  • Have attention to detail and be extremely organised

  • Have strong analytical skills.
