Graduate Town Planner - Birmingham

A leading planning, architecture, and master planning consultancy is looking for a Graduate Town Planner to join its Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with some industry experience or an Assistant Planner looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

You will play a supporting role to directors, assisting with research, planning applications, site appraisals, and policy analysis. Tasks may include gathering planning history, drafting reports, and data collection to support a range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

The role requires a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, particularly as Mondays and Fridays are work-from-home days. You should be comfortable managing your workload remotely and responding efficiently to director requests.

Requirements
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Some practical experience (internship, placement, or assistant planner role preferred)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Confidence in working independently and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A keen interest in the UK planning system and development process
What They Offer
  • A structured career development path within a well-established consultancy
  • The chance to work closely with senior planners and directors on a variety of projects
  • Hybrid working with Mondays and Fridays from home
  • Exposure to real-world planning applications and policy work
