SummaryJoin a winning team and contribute to the Green Energy transition.Reporting directly to the UK Services Leader, the On-Site Service Specialist is a key member of the Service team, providing:Application Engineering support both internally and externallyField Service activities at Protection & Control integrators and end customer facilitiesService and maintenance contracts on-site, including onshore substations and offshore platformsIn this role, the engineer will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to moderately complex issues, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Essential Responsibilities:As an On-Site Services Specialist, you will be responsible for:Being part of a team in charge of a maintenance contract with customers.Being available on call, 24 hours a day on a rota basis, to perform first-line fault diagnostics of systems and clear failures of Substation Control and Protection systems installed at operational substations onshore and offshore.Providing technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.Ensuring full reports are generated for the end-customer.Performing Validation and FAT of Protection and Substation Automation systems including database upgrades/modifications, firmware upgrades, testing on mirror platforms, and providing SAT assistance.Participating in the installation and commissioning of Protection & Substation Control Systems.Offering consulting services on P&C Engineering (Calculation of Settings, Protection Relay, Control Units and Gateway Configuration, Coordination Studies, Short Circuit analysis).Coordinating with the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and others for Products & Systems obsolescence management.Managing customer complaints for resolution via the company’s process, adhering to all required procedures and processes at all times.Assisting with internal and external training activities, including classroom and commissioning-based training.Gaining knowledge of new products and systems, developing and further expanding technical knowledge and expertise, and staying current with recognised industry standards for engineering ability.Maintaining knowledge of applicable product line warranties and effectively administering warranties.Providing weekly timesheets and monthly reports including the status of all work undertaken by the Engineer during the month and any other items relating to the Services Department.Maintaining knowledge of the report system for timely and accurate input of field information.Communicating schedule details, project milestones, manpower requirements, quality issues, and tools/equipment requirements to the appropriate individuals.Supporting the Sales and Commercial teams.Obtaining and maintaining customer Competent Person Authorisation.Ensuring all relevant safety documentation and site competency certificates are up to date, informing the Services Leader of impending renewals.Applying the company’s health and safety responsibilities to the work at site and on the platform, ensuring RAMS are produced and reviewed internally and externally.Ensuring adherence to the company's quality, environment, health & safety policies.Maintaining a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work meets the technical requirements within the company’s safety standards.Providing, auditing, and implementing quality control requirements for on-site activities.Assisting the company in maintaining a Quality Focus, striving for continuous improvement, addressing all areas of customer dissatisfaction/satisfaction, and taking corrective action when deviations from required standards are identified.Job Requirements:Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Proficiency in English; additional languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese) are valued.Relevant experience in Electrical Protection and Substation Automation Systems, with a background in technical support, testing, maintenance, commissioning in transmission, distribution, industrial, and power plants environments.Experience with electrical Protection relays and Control systems (LV, MV & HV).Experience in substation automation systems, with DS Agile knowledge preferred.Proven knowledge of our client’s protection relays and Substation automation solutions is preferred.Willingness and ability to travel globally (approximately 160 days/year).Valid driver’s license.Desired Characteristics:Excellent technical skills in Protection Relays, Communication Protocols, SCADA.Knowledge of our client’s Protection relays and DS Agile SCADA will be highly valued.Knowledge of Automation, Electrical Control Systems, and SCADA/DCS systems.Understanding of Power & Protection Systems.Ability to organize, prioritize, and achieve milestones and deliverables.Openness to working extended hours and weekends.Sound judgment, levelheaded under pressure, with the ability to think on your feet.High energy, positive individual who loves service challenges.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional customer focus and the ability to cooperate with different departments.A rigorous team-working approach with a high level of self-motivation, flexibility, and self-learning aptitude.Must be a motivator, self-starter, and dedicated team player with a sense of urgency and the ability to work to tight deadlines.Basic first aid skills and Offshore Certification are preferred but not essential.
