Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Grid Connections Manager to join our team and work with our customers to integrate large scale PV, wind, CHP and EHV grids.
Managing the grid connection process with DNOs and IDNOs is the core of this role but our projects are diverse and therefore we encourage those who are happiest when stretching yourself to apply. You may be assisting with tech enabled grid control systems, exploring innovative solutions, or using your deep knowledge of the industry to find solutions where others have failed.

What youll be doing
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the energy sector and to contribute to the growth and success of our company.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design of LV and HV electricity networks (private and DNO) in WINDEBUT, IPSA, and other design tools.
They will be expected to work as part of a small team to analyse electricity networks for connection applications, up to and including Self Determination of the Point of Connection for LV and 11kV connections. In doing so they will create and maintain strong relationships internally and with customers, DNOs, IDNOs and ICP
The candidate is expected to be familiar with the preparation of high-level engineering drawings and applications to DNOs and IDNOs for connection offers. They will also be able to assist the ICP tender process (including technical and commercial review of tender returns).
We expect them to be able to manage the connection offer process and provide hands-on support for the customer, including the review of connection offers for engineering, commercial, and practical implications.
It is essential that candidates demonstrate compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ENA, DNO and IDNO standards and ensure quality standards are met.

What we're looking for
Significant experience in LV & HV electrical distribution network design
Experience of NERS design approval process with DNO/IDNO/ICP an advantage
Experience using electricity design software tools (WinDebut, IPSA, ELEK Cable HV, ELEK Safe Grid, AutoCAD or their equivalents)
Ability to communicate well with senior management and customers alike.
Strong technical and mathematical skills
Ability to self-start and work without direct supervision
Ability to structure work, record keep and support company certification by working with good governance.
Professional manner, able to represent the company.
Right to work in UK - We are unable to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Ability to travel: Full, clean driving licence & Passport

Key Qualifications
Significant experience within a DNO or IDNO connections team (essential)
Detailed knowledge of the connections processes and associated standards (CCCMS, ECCR etc)

Please note this role is focused on LV and HV distribution network design rather than building electrical installations subject to BS7671.
Please note this role will require some business travel within the UK and Ireland for client and site meetings, where of course all costs (travel, accommodation subsistence) are paid.
